Review - Simpsons sweater ^_^

After seeing a Simpsons-sweater on Tumblr, I went on a hunt to find one for myself. And I succeeded! Multiple sellers on AliExpress had it for extremely cheap. I of course went for the cheapest (hell yeah bargain hunter). You can find it here for 10,4-11,5$

I ordered it 9th September and it arrived in Denmark at 29th September. Pretty good for an AliExpress seller!

The sweater:

Material: There first thing I noted was how heavy the sweater is. It looks like it is going to last me a long time! It's slightly itchy, but that's what you can expect from a polyester sweater.
Color: I can only speak for the yellow one, but the colors of the one I own are vibrant and gorgeous! Exactly like the pictures.
Fit: I wish I had sized up, as I usually do with Asian whole sellers, but as I don't like my sweaters baggy, I was afraid to! The arms and shoulders are quite narrow. It does fit, it's just a tiny bit uncomfortable!

Overall rating: 4,5/5
I love this sweater! It's totally worth the money and I am now considering buying it in pink :)

How to be Pretty on a Budget

Clothes, makeup etc. can be a very expensive business, but these following places to do shopping, might make it a little bit cheaper for you to stay cute without having a ton of money to spend!

When I first heard of eBay, I thought it was only private auctions. Since then, I have discovered the Chinese wholesale sellers and I buy most of my jewellery on there

Best for: Jewellery, makeup brushes, accessories

Pros:

• Cheap as frag! You can find 1 dollar necklaces og 2 dollar brushes in amazing quality
• Good quality for the price
• You can find literally everything from necklaces to hairpins to cute makeup bags

Cons:

• There's also European shops - with European prices! Those can be filtered out easily though
• As with Alizexpress, the quality will sometimes be a bit disappointing, especially if you buy clothes or bags.

Hair bows in various colors (I own all of them! The quality is rarwh!) - 0,99$
Doctor Who iPhone 4S cover - 1,68$

Best for: Bags, clothing

A site full of wholesale sellers. You can get the exact same items as sites like SheInside, Choies, Romwe etc. sells, but cheaper. You can read more here, as I have written an more in-depth post with tips and tricks for the magnificent world of AliExpress!

Pros:

• Very unique designs
• Often inspirered by european high-street brands
• Usually same quality as H&M or Forever 21, but cheaper

Cons:

• Shipping usually takes about a month
• It is kind of hit or miss. I've had a couple of experiences with bad quality items.

Best for: Makeup, skincare, haircare

In the beautyworld, Korea is probably best known for being the motherland of BB and CC creams, but many Korean brands also produce high quality makeup and skincare - often in amazingly cute packaging! I am a very weak consumer when it comes to nice packaging :)

You can also purchase korean makeup from other online sites, but I have very good experiences with this specific seller, so it is what I recommend!

Some of the most popular brands are the following:

• Etude House
• Missha
• Tony Moly
• Skinfood
• BBIA
• Holika Holika

Pros:

• Usually cute packaging
• As good or better than european makeup brands, but cheaper!
• BB creams, foundation etc. often comes in very light colours, so if you are fair skinned, you might want to look into it
• Interesting and unique products, like the popular Snail Recovery Gel from Mizon 

Cons:

• It's hard to figure out the ingredients
• Sometimes the amount of product is way smaller than it looks like online

Best for: Clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery

Thrifting used to have a bad reputation, but in the last couple of years, it have changed completely! If you don't know what a thrift shop is, it is a store selling used clothes, bags etc. Most shops is run by charities. They are therefore also known as charity shops.

Pros:

• You might find expensive brand pieces for a low price
• Finding vintage pieces is not rare
• Most thrift shops are cheaper than AliExpress
• Eco friendly!

Cons:

• You have to dig through a lot of garbage to find the gems
• The items you end of buying is rarely what you actually need :P

Tips and tricks for shopping at AliExpress.com

1. Always look at reviews
The most reliable information you can get, is what other buyers have written about the item. I don't care about the star rating system, because the reasons people have to leave a bad star rating, might be something you care less about. Like long shipping time or longer/shorter than they expected. You simply cannot know! I by the way recommend you to always leave in depth and honest reviews, to help your fellow onlineshopper!

2. Go for items with many reviews
Many items are sold from multiple sellers. Go the the one with most reviews, because lots of reviews usually means lots of people who have recieved their order.

3. Watch hauls on YouTube
My favorite way to find the best quality items, is to watch Asian wholesale hauls. Sites like SheinSide, Oasap, Dresslink etc. get their clothing from the same factories as the AliExpress sellers and you are therefore not "restricted" to AliExpress hauls.

4. Search for the items on SheinSide
As I mentioned in 3., SheInside sell the exact same clothing as what you find on AliExpress, but for triple the price. You can therefore take advantage of their "style gallery" section. Seeing the clothes on real people and non-photoshopped, gives a better idea of the quality and fit.

5. Be aware of the material
Polyester is not necessarily always a no-go, but some things are just not meant to be made out of synthetic fabric. The seller might give you wrong information though, but it is usually not the case.

6. Add things to your wish list
You will then be reminded if the item goes on sale. I've scored many amazing deals this way!

7. Be realistic
If you pay 15$ for a bag, don't expect it to be real leather. Once again, always check the item description.

8. Measurements
Asian sizes are not the same as European sizes. A medium might be the same as a large - and in rare cases, maybe the other ways around! Therefore always check the measurements. Their dresses are often on the shorter side, but rarely so short they cannot be worn.

9. Expect shipping time to be 1-2 months
A lot of people get turned of by this, but it is totally worth it in my opinion. You just have to think in advance. I as an example just purchased a winter coat, even though it's still late summer where I live.

10. Don't buy jewellery
Simply because it's cheaper on eBay.

I hope some of you find these tips helpful. I don't think nearly enough people know about AliExpress, which is a shame. If anyone is interested, I might do a haul/review on some of my recent purchases. Maybe even a lookbook! Let me know in the comments :)

Tony Moly - Crystal Stick Eyeshadow #1 White Beam - review

Review - White Beam

Information about the eyeshadow stick:

• I bought mine from beautynetkorea for 5 usd and it arrived in Denmark in less than two weeks
• A small and creamy eyeshadow stick, with lots of glitter!
• It comes in Gold, Champagne Pink, Sunny Orange, Modern Brown and a vibrant white, which is the one I've bought

• It is very cheap compared to how little product you need. It is going to last me for about forever!
• Perfect as a eyecorner highlight

Smudge test

Pros:

Cheap

Good pigmentation

A good amount of product

Very shimmery and therefore a perfect eyecorner highlight!

Pretty packaging

Cons:

Wear off during the day and smudges easily

Overall rating: 4/5

I wish I could give it top rating because of how beautiful it looks, but it does not last long enough in my eyecorner :/ it isn't a huge problem 

Would I repurchase it?: yes! If I ever run out of it

My beauty emergency kit

1. Nail tools

Because you never know when you'll break a nail!

2. MOISTURIZE ME

Lip balm and hand cream is must for me. Lip favorite balms are lypsyl and baby lips. The hand cream on the picture is just a random sample I stole from a friend.

3. A comb

As a person with a fringe, I never leave the house without a comb.

4. Mouth spray or gum

I am obsessed with Étude house breath mists, especially the peach version. It is so nice! Gum is a nice alternative.

5. Blotting paper

If you haven't heard of blotting paper, it is small papersheets you use to absorb excess oil on your t-zone. My favorite ones are the ones from Etude house, but the ones from Clean and Clear does an equally good job, but they are in a less cute and girly packaging!

6. Hair ties, bobbypins and a small hair accessory

The bow is optional, but always bring bobby pins and a hair tie with you, In case the weather messes up your hair or you just need to get it away from your face.

7. A tweezer

Because old school furniture equals splinters.
